Black Belts:

Mr Liam Broderick, 3rd Dan (see Instructor Profile)

Mrs Patricia Finney, 2nd Dan - Patricia is a renowned author. For further details please visit her website www.patricia-finney.co.uk

Mr Mark Edwards, 2nd Dan - Mark began his training in Newquay Tae Kwon-Do way back in 1986. He graded through his coloured belts with the TAGB, eventually taking his 1st Dan under Master Hee Il Cho in 1989. Mark’s 2nd Dan was taken under Grandmaster Yung Ho Jun, a 9th Dan WTF black belt from Tampa Bay in Florida in 1996. Mark is currently working towards his 3rd Dan as part of GTI Truro.

Mr Nigel Fouracre, 2nd Dan - Nigel was born with a speech and language problem and went to a boarding school for children with learning difficulties. It was there that he found an interest in the martial arts, first with Karate then progressing onto Tae Kwon-Do working up to 5th kup with the UKTF and after a number of transfers to various organisations as his family moved home, he eventually graded to black belt with the UKTA under Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha, 9th Dan. Nigel completed an umpire and instructor course and opened a school in Plymouth before moving to Cornwall and joining Truro Tae Kwon-Do Academy in 2006. Nigel hopes to shortly open another school and to move up through the black belt ranks, having recently been successful in his 2nd Dan grading in May 2007. His aim to make Tae Kwon-Do students happier and more confident and to assist them to reach their full potential. As a very successful competition fighter, Nigel has been featured in the national Martial Arts Illustrated and Combat Magazines and many local papers such as the West Briton and Packet. Nigel is a student that has greatly benefitted from Tae Kwon-Do training, which has helped him to manage his learning problems. He has demonstrated the courage, spirit and perseverence of a true martial artist.
