St Stephens Borough were formed from the old Landrake football club in 1998, the same year they applied to join the Bodmin Trophies Duchy League.

The founding committee members were Phil Bennett, Julian Chenery, Bob Hutchings and Marc Montell.

That year they completed in Division 4 (East) finishing runners-up to St Cleer and winning the Bedford Chairmans Cup, beating Duchy League, Premier Division, side Callington Town, in the final at Launceston.

The club has progressed well through the Duchy League in recent years going from Duchy League Division Four to the Premier Divison in just five seasons. In 2007/08 the club won the Duchy Premier League and were promoted to the East Cornwall Premier League: Division One. During the 2007/08 season the club also became a FA Charter Club.

The committee has also developed and the club now has a strong backroom team to support its development.
