Floods Picture voted most representative of 2007
12:00pm, Tuesday 29th January 2008
An image taken during last summer’s floods has been voted the most representative picture of 2007 in a recent competition run by local free ads website itsmymarket.com.
Paul Price from Gloucester, Gloucestershire took the picture whilst out walking his dog, a very worthy walk considering his prize; a Canon Digital SLR camera. “I’m so pleased to have won, I wasn’t going to enter the picture, I did and I’ve won, I’m ecstatic!”
After being voted onto a shortlist of 20 by members of the public from across the country Paul’s picture entitled “Floodgates” was judged to have captured the natural beauty of the highly destructive summer floods.
A fellow entrant from Surrey commented: “it is a very deserving image with lots of details, beautiful colours and reflections”.
Paul’s picture, along with all the others will be displayed on itsmymarket.com indefinitely.
Managing Director of itsmymarket.com, Tom Probst: “I have never seen so many images of such high quality, the judges really had their work cut out this year!”
