Source: Big Boy The hunt for a new job - you having a laugh? Living the life of Riley isn't all its cracked up to be. This week I managed to get a touch of sunburn TWICE whils basking in the glorious June sunshine. The attendants at the Spa were hardly sympathetic accusing me of having too much time on my hands and suggesting I get a proper job. Let The Job Hunt CommenceAs a frequent lounger on this site I checked out what was on offer in my local and UK job market. It was illuminating to see the wide variety of work being offered - I followed up the advert to join Ann Summers Angel Team but alas the first sentence " Girls...Come and party" sort of told me that ironically selling Ann's devices was not for the Big Boy. Moving down the adverts a series of self proclaimed hum drum boring postions appeared - my favorite being titled simply "Form Filler" and noticed that many adverts look a little suspicious - offering salaries in foreign currencies (how many Rupees to the Pound?). Other Job sites - latest vacanciesLooking at other more specific recruitment sites still turned up some mystifying entries For example I wouldn't fancy being a Software developer in Cambridge Contract Software Developer Job Contract Software Developer Excellent contract opportunity for an experienced Software Developer with software product lifecycle exp from creation, through development & into support. So it seems the world of work is not ready for me yet. I approach the weekend comfortable in the knowledge that I tried to get a job but a combination of non equality and reluctance to fuel the slave wage wars allowed me to make an informed decision.
