Three Gifts for a King

Music, Health and Happiness

Latest iPod

the iPod Touch has stacks of features for those who want to play silly games but now Nintendo have released the Nintendo DS its by far the better hand held gaming experience. Personally I prefer a dedicated gadget and on closer inspection the new nano iPod fits the bill perfectly. Now I'm a Big Boy but I have take my hat off to this little nipper - the new nano can stor thousands of tunes.

Christmas time - too much Food and Wine

Omron M10 IT Blood Pressure Monitor

Not the most "fun" present but following a routine check up it was advised that regualry measurements should be made to keep an eye on the BP. The Omron M1O is easy to use, accurate and reliable - which all helps lower blood pressure.

Spread a little Happiness

Fun Gift

There's no shortage of novelty gifts these days. It could be a comedy mug, a saucy apron or one of the many gift experiences now available.

However the big heart comes out and who would be disappointed to find they've adopted a penguin?

Its all very well the Pasty Muncher encouraging us to get fit the wii way playing silly wii games, but have you seen the prices these gizmos are on sale at?

Why pay three quid for a hula hoop when you can spend three hundred on a wii and get to hula without the hoop?

Once Again I feel a need to have a round up of whats being said on the net - genuine user reviews about wii fi.

There are conflicting reports - these three love the wii:-

However other possibly more experienced gamers rubbish the wii console and refer to the games as pathetic cartoon non adventures for silly kids:-
Some are firmly on the fence - hmm the next blockbuster wii game perhaps?

All in all the nintendo wii dioes offer fun but at a price.

To quote the funny video - why let your children outside to play when they can stay home, in front of the tv?

Laptop Buying - Choosing a Laptop

Laptops Laptops Everywhere but which one is the best for me?

The range of laptops now available is mesmerising.

I read the following laptop buying guide and it was helpful but I was keen to get a laptop with good old Windows XP rather than Vista which by all accounts plops.

It seems that no new laptop comes loaded with XP and you have to pay extra to get this - the solution could be to get a cecondhand or reconditioed laptop - see the deals for used computers her.

Where to get the best price Laptops

I was also pleased I trawled around the web andthis small selection seemed to give a thumbs up for Toshiba - Ello Tosh and all agreed that using price comparison sites should ensure you find a good deal

Clearly it pays to do plenty of research and make an informed deccision when you choose a laptop.

Back to School - I want to be a Doctor

Source: Big Boy
Thursday 14th August 2008, 5:11pm

The long hot summer hols (where you been?) will soon be over and a new academic year is almost upon us...

The new school year is about to begin and I hope to begin my training to become a medical professional swanking around wearing crisp white lab coat struting about the wards and corridors with a stethoscope dangling from my neck.

What's Up Doc?

It all started last year when I was called a "non doctor" - some reference to my endless energy reserves I think - and in the heat of the moment I accepted the challenge to get medical training.

Little did I realise how easily places are awarded at Medical School - I simply claimed I had four average grade A' Levels and put down amongst my interests and pastimes and interests as Rugger, Nurses, Beer and Hey Presto my acceptance letter from the Dartmoor Instant Medical School (DIMS) arrived by return post. All I need to do to guarantee my place for September is send three years fees £££ up front and show evidence of my commitment by producing a valid receipt for a cardiology grade stethoscope.

My Stethoscope was a gift - No Receipt

With the best intentions my good friend Hazel "pop in" Eyes bought a stethoscope as a congratulatory gift however not onlyhas the receiopt gone awol but it turns out that its a novelty doctors stethoscope - little wonder I was going around wrongly diagnosing friends as having no pulse.

This blog from over the water suggests splashing out on a fancy new electronic stethoscope but when I checked with DIMS they said that they weren't aceptable as they were too good and all Doctors to be had to experience the poor sound quality of old fashioned steths before taking the easy route.

Are there Jobs in the UK for Doctors?

I do have a concren which may prevcent me from taking this path - that is what jobs are available to UK trained Doctors? The last time I was in a hospital I have to say there was a significant number of international staff at all levels and trends show more and more highly qualified medical staff are filling the vacancies on the wards.

Nice Little Earner for Posh Totty

Credit Crunch Blues, Economic Doldrums - Avoid the Gloom.

Last time Silly Billy explored the notion that some of the silliest uk jobs were advertised online however if the occasional typo errors can be ignored the rewards of searching online can be plentiful.

What work are you looking for?

With the recent bout of silly adverts on the tv currently it is hard not to want to join in the marketing and promotion of well know and not so well known brands.

Nice work if you can get it

On another market blog - http://www.itsmymarket.com/blogs/freelander/freelander-adverts-dont-mention-the-car-tax/ we learned that there has been an increase in ads for gas guzzling 4x4 so we set about seeing if we could find any silly contenders...

Zara Phillips in Land Rover and Rolex Adverts

After a little investigation this we find clip of posh totty, Zara Phillips who has been handsomely rewarded for playing a top totty who gains the attention of a right herbert. The part - no lines - invloves Zara simply looking gorgeous whilst manoeuvring a well behaved horse out of her box. At the point the oik makes a derogatory remark about the difficulty of Eventing the horse splatters his face with a full load of gloop shot straight from its considerable nose.

This isn't the first time Zara has teamed with Land Rover - http://www.itsmymarket.com/blogs/i-will-say-this-only-once/phillips-family-fortunes/ claims she straddles a freelander - now put that into google!
