Stress can cause you to stop eating properly, less excercise, lack of sleep, excessive abuse of substances like smoking, dehydration, lack of vitimins and minerals which might affect your hair, skin and nails.

It takes about 3 months of continual high levels of emotional stress to start seeing the effects of hair loss. During the 5—6 weeks of the resting phase (telogen) when the hair stops growing, you might notice the greatest effluvium or sudden diffuse hair loss in your brush, sink or shower.

Apart from dealing with traumatic events like the death of a family member or someone close, an accident, abuse, having a baby, illness, surgery or medication , additional emotional stresses such as job insecurities, debt, increased living expenses and strained relationship is enough to send your hair follicles into shock!

Hair abuse like over chemically processing your hair, using straighteners without proper protection, using aggressive hair extension techniques or simply under nourishing your body can all be tell tale sign as you see your hair getting thinner and lifeless.

So what do you do? where do you go? and how could you help avoid this happening to you in 3-6 months?

Hair loss in women is becoming more prominent. It has been proven that poor diet, hormone in balances, indulgence of rich nurturing foods, caffeine, alcohol and smoking can all have an adverse affect on both your hair, skin and nails.

Better management of your diet and stress can help reduce the likelihood of your hair taking it out on you.

Why Drink Bottled Water

It is common knowledge that too much sodium or salt is not good for us, but even if we are salt savvy and do what’s best by avoiding salt our bodies can still product too much sodium due to too much stress, which will naturally increase sodium retention. Drink water first thing in the morning and last thing at night if you cannot stand drinking water throughout the day. Try herbal teas or some of the fruit flavored waters.
