Hey, We're back again and this time we're going to get stuck in straight away.

I've had a mad couple of days, I got myself some tickets to the o2 Wireless Festival last week and thought it'd be nice to go down and see a few bands, what a couple of days, it was amazing. I've been chatting to people on air about it, playing a few tracks from a few of the outstanding bands that performed there ...

Also, Wisbech was graced with the Rose Fair parade on saturday, what a day that was, it had up's and down's,. the works I tell you ... it started with rain, and I mean HEAVY rain, it poured it down during the first parade, and we got drenched because we were riding in an open top bus, BUT during the second parade Mr.Sun came out and burnt us all, but I habve to say I had such a great day, saw loads and loads of people and even squirted them with a water pistol.

Now, on to the show today, we have the main features, the first of which is the MIDDAY MASS-DEBATE!

This consists of me telling you guys what we're debating about and then we give you the numbers to get in contact. Today we were talking about UFO's. There's been quite a few sightings around the Fens as of late, so I thought I'd get everyone to tell me about their experiances with the weird and wonderful.

So, are people of the Fen's believers of the supernatural? Well it turns out most of us are ...

Pauline was the first on the phones, she said that she saw something about 2 weeks ago, she woke up in the middle of the night at around 2am and walked toward the window and saw a massive bright light shining in the sky, she said it couldn't have been an aeroplane or helicopter because it was an odd shape with a chunk missing on the side, then the UFO simply shot off in a matter of seconds, strange eh?

Kate then phoned in and said, "Don't worry about them little green men, it's only E.T coming back for another holiday", she then went onto say that IF something out of this world did come down to earth then she would invite it in and give it a cuppa, how very english!

A controversial text them came through simply saying "There's only one kind of alien in this country and they're the ILLEGAL ones"

So after reading out a few more cases of people spotting bright lights and things they could only describe as extraordinary, we had a few more calls and texts.

Ted was in on the text and he said "There's a whole universe/galaxy out there, surely we cannot be the only life forms that inhabit it"

So Ted sounds like he's on board with the other people across the Fen's, such as Jean who is another believer, she said that she hasn't actually spotted a UFO in the Fens but she had an experiance when she was younger where she was out with her friends and something landed in the vacinity, it had very vivid bright lights stuck around for a little bit and then simply vanished out of sight.

So, that was what we were debating about today, thanks if you joined in, if you didn't then you get your chance next week from Midday.

The next big thing on the agenda is the HALF HOUR OF POWER, it's 30 minutes of non-stop NEW music, here's what we played today ...

THE VERVE - LOVE IS NOISE

The Wigan lads are finally back after being away from the scene for 10 years, they have a brand new single out called 'Love is Noise', it's going to be released on August 4th and it comes from their fourth album called 'Forth' which you'll be able to get your hands on from the 18th August.

WILD BEASTS - THE DEVILS CRAYON

I played this single last week, I'm really loving it. If you want to check it out then you can buy/download it from tomorrow, OR you can grab their album called 'LIMBO, PANTO' right now!

THE FEELING - TURN IT UP

The most stylist band around this year are back with single number 3 from their number 1 album 'Join With Us', the single is called 'Turn It Up' and it's going to be out tomorrow (July 7th)

THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS - STANDING NEXT TO ME

You take an Arctic Monkey and a Rascal and you get this piece of western influenced music. Alex Turner and Miles Kane release their new single 'Standing Next To Me' tomorrow, hoping to score a number 1 along with their number 1 album 'The Age of the Understatement'.

CAJUN DANCE PARTY - THE COLOURFUL LIFE

The guys have just released their album called 'The Colourful Life' so next up is the lead single. That will be available to buy and download from the 21st July. These guys know about music because guitarist Bernard Butler is a producer and has produced with the likes of Manic Street Preachers and Duffy.

LINKIN PARK - LEAVE OUT ALL THE REST

The Men from the US are over in this neck of the woods performing with the likes of Jay Z, Pendulum and Enter Shikari in Milton Keynes and to sweeten the deal they're releasing another single, it comes out next monday (July 14th) and it's from their multi million selling album 'Minutes To Midnight'.

XX TEENS - ONLY YOU

Little is known about this band, all I know is that it's very hard trying to download some of their songs because of their almost 'rude' name, but I managed to get this single and play it for you. It's coming out on the 14th of July, and if you're planning to download it then make sure you get the right thing ;)

FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND - WATERFRONT DANCE CLUB

Current Record of the Week here on Fen Radio, it's a double A side single from Welsh boys Funeral For A Friend, it's doubled up with the song that all the other shows have been playing 'Beneath the Burning Tree'. It's out on Vinyl on the 14th July, OR as a FREE download on the same date.

So there you have it, 30 minutes of BRAND NEW MUSIC, for more new music then check out Andy Bee with his 'New Music Meltdown', thats on Fen Radio on a Thursday night from 9pm. On the other hand, you can always meet me back here next Sunday from 1.50pm.

Thats your lot from me today I'm afraid, you can catch me on air from 7am tomorrow on the Nigel Payne Breakfast show.

See you next week

Bye

Shaun
