Bees Bumble On
Is the decline in the number of honey bees connected with the increase in numbers in the British bumble bee population?
I have observed the decline in numbers of honey bees in my garden and allotment over several years. However, over the same period there has been a large increase in the numbers of various species of bumble bee. Are they fillling the gap left by honey bees? My sample area is small. Is anyone counting more widely?
