May Bank Holiday looms and various events worthy of note. Great West RunAlthough I have become more disciplined when paying a visit to the Its My Market Blog Site - I did come across an old post from the IMM Admin Chaps who will be running and raising money for the Lifeboat Institution. It would be a nice gesture if the IMM community dipped into their pockets and offered a few bob - visit the http://www.justgiving.com/IMM page and remember to tick the "I'm a taxpayer - Gift Aid it" box. They deserve every penny - hours spent trotting around the most uninspiring areas of Exeter is surely worth YOUR SUPPORT. Lustleigh May DayPole dancing with a differenceThe village of Lustleigh aka "Belgravia of Devon" holds a May Day event each year which offers a selection of ramshackle, unimaginative, tawdry side-stalls but does include a really good May Pole dance. This year its on Saturday Afternoon 5th May - paid parking in a feild is available - funds go to I know not where. The "highlight" of the day is the crowning of a May Queen - a pagan ritual which somehow seems to fly under the radar in these politically correct days. Its just plain discrimination - sexist, ageist and heaven knows how the authenticity of virginity is checked. Pasty MunchathonDetails still being finalised - bookmark this page and come back soon to learn about this truely Munchtastic happening.
