Munching with the best of 'em. Tirelessly searching for the perfect pasty.

Deviation for the Nation

Source: Kim Mutton
Monday 17th September 2007, 2:40pm

At my age I should have known better....

...than to deviate from the true path of pasty enlightenment.

When I got there - the oven was bare

Once more to Hartnells of Exeter for lunch. Clearly the cool snap had caused a rush and the pasty cabinet was almost bare. The staff kindly offered to warm a proper pasty in the microwave and fully understood my spurning of this offer. It was suggested I try the remaining Lamb and Mint Pasty.

Salt! Salt! - Salty as Heck

Wabbish. Fair play the crust was to the exceptional high Hartnells standard but the filling was a terrible let down. Imagine a blend of HP suace, marmite and bisto gravy granules with added salt and a dash of mint sauce and you're close.

Futher to Jally's incredible success adding the Pasty Petition to 10 Downing Street web site - time for action

Coaching for Success

I need to spread the word about the Pasty Petition

Yesterday I met up with a good chum of mine and following the ritual mutual admitation of each others cars - he has a dreamy maserati - he passed on some sage advice.

A top golfer once remarked "it funny how the harder I work the luckier I get"

His message to me was clear - Network Munch NETWORK

So I have begun.

First stop Facebook - wierd place but I've poked lall the munchers I can and shall join any pasty orientated group

Another of my favourite local sites I posted a thread about the Cornish Pasty Petition on this is cornwall

Then to find and attract like minded pro=fessionals Linked IN http://www.linkedin.com/in/pastymuncher

The Munching has begun.

It was with great delight that I joined the social network community of Trusted Places a few weeks ago and I hope to be able to raise the profile of the fine pasty establishments I have found and hope to continue to find along the way - so far I've added Sidwell Fish and Chip Shop in Exeter

As a sidenote I was chuffed that my "coach" agreed to sport a No hand signals I'm Munching a Pasty sticker on the boot of his Maz.

PRIVATE

PM = Private Messages - whose talking behind your back?

PM - People Mumbling? Catch up time

Just figured what pms are about - I've only just noticed the teeny box in the top right corner when you share a comment that says Welcome, and below it tells me I had 17 unread private messages going back over many months. I can only appologise for appearing to be so rude by not replying to them. If I can just cover the essentials

Hazel Eyes - exceeds 200mph which surely leaves your two wheeler behind

Photo Restoration - still not quite up to speed yet - truprint are pretty good

Big Boy - If you think you're hard enough

Paul Berry - Is it the Muppet Theme tune? What Pain You Got?

And the most recent from Jally - what can I say - stirling effort with the Government Petition about Pasties - your support and faith spurs me on to continue Munching for ENGLAND - bit cheeky to use my name but all publicity etc

Ner ner - my free £100 arrived

Source: Kim Mutton
Thursday 6th September 2007, 11:47am

6.6% tax free return in a month (and a bit)

Ton Up

You may remember earlier in the summer I was hoping to make a few bob from Honk Gong and Shanglira Bwanking Corporalation by taking advantage of the offer of free £100 when joining First Direct - http://www.itsmymarket.com/blogs/pasty-muncher/100-free/

There were Doubting Thomas's who questioned if the requirement was to have salary trnsfered to the account - they certainly pushed for it - but after 28 days I contacted them to ask where my Brucey Bonus was and they agreed that I had met the requirement of depsiting at least £1500 and the dosh would be mine.

It's arrived. See Screenshot in Comments

Know Yarrrr Numbers

Source: Kim Mutton
Wednesday 5th September 2007, 4:02pm

More dates for the diary in September. Swashbuckling with a latex cuff.

National Blood Pressure Testing Week

10 - 16th September free blood pressure tests across the UK

Every Year the Blood Pressure Association organises a national raising awareness campaign "know your numbers" to highlight the importance of knowing what your blood pressure is. The only way to find out if you have high blood pressure is to have it measured and the week long event sees a wide range of organisations volunteering to check your blood pressure for free.

Win a blood pressure monitor and find out where you can be tested free.

Visit the BPA KNY page http://www.bpassoc.org.uk/kyn/findyournearest.htm and enter your postcode - you'll find out the nearest venues and times offering free blood pressure checks and also how to enter a competition to win your own blood pressure monitor.

Details how to measure your blood pressure can be viewed at Blood Pressure Monitors - How to use them properly

Last year my readings were 135/70 - gulp - I dread to think about the damage caused by this years Pasty Indulgence.
