Started with a lie-in, progressed to marigolds and Loobloo, ended with my fantastic little boy!

Didn't get out of bed til half eight today, straight off to Goodwins Road to do my three hours cleaning up student wee, then home for a quick cuppa.

Picked Sam up just after 1 from his mummy's house, he was a bit upset for some reason, probably tiredness, then we headed home via Tesco.

All shoppinged-up we stashed it in the boot then "took the trolley back".....for me and Sam this involves HIM sitting inside the trolley holding on tight while Daddy sets off down the car park like a winter Olympic bobsleigh pusher, before diving onto the back of the speeding mass of metal, also clinging on for dear life. Run One today was great, we spun 720 before coming to rest facing a car containing a laughing couple - laughing at us. Run Two in the opposite direction (two runs are required to confirm any records) was even better, and you know, I've never noticed that sharp little downward slope. The very slope that accelerated us from "dangerously fast and in danger of overturning" speed to "AAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE".......I was relieved to get feet on tarmac, and it took about 10 metres to bring the trolley to a rest, uncomfortably close to a parked BMW. Sam was, naturally, laughing his head off.

We had planned to go to the seaside, but the weather was grey and chilly so we just headed home and had fun all afternoon. Sam enjoyed his improvised tea of toast, Tweenies spaghetti and "wee willie winkies", and the time went too quick as usual. A precedent was set when we had to line up the banger racing start in rows of three not two, to prevent the line-up reaching all the way round the track. Sir Trumpalot is still AWOL (we had an almost wistful little "wonder where he is" kind of chat about him). Lightning McQueen showed Sam's Lego Ferraris that he is STILL the fastest car around. After tea we snuggled up on the settee, and out of the blue Sam sang me a song all about "We've had a lovely day, time to go to bed" etc, and yes it did make me cry just a little bit! Bedtime was lovely as usual, and Sam was out like a light (the earlier tiredness caught him up I think)....got 2 1/2 hours tomorrow morning, then that's it til the regular Friday night stay here. I'm so lucky to have such a fantastic son. And quite lucky to have an ex-missus who thinks it's good for Sam to spend time with his Daddy.

Soon be time to take Sam for his half ten wee, then it's sleepy time for me too....and hopefully sweet dreams of me, Kylie, a water bed and some chocolate cake.....
