Salt and vinegar (S&V) crisps are undoubtedly the traditional blokey favourite flavour, and I will be putting myself through a punishing few days of intense competition to discover England's best S&V product The things I do for the sake of science!
This coming Sunday (22 April) sees the opening matches in the 2007 Salt & Vinegar World Cup (S&VWC).
Between now and then I will be gathering as many S&V products as possible, the draw for the first round will take place on Saturday, and the crisp products will do battle from Sunday onwards.
Matches will be decided on the basis of comparing: 1 - Crispness 2 - Flavour 3 - Size of crisp 4 - Aroma 5 - Packaging 6 - More-ish-ness (don't think that's a real word)
Early information from Ladbrokes shows that Walkers are the hot favourites: 8-11 Walkers S&V
