On spicy venture capitalist sauce, two evenings with a fantastic young man, concrete gardens and May wetness.... Reggae Reggae Sauce
As reported a while ago by Sweet Chilli, Reggae Reggae Sauce is now in the shops. I've spent months searching Tesco for it, when SCS said it was in Sainsburys....and it is ONLY in Sainsburys! I bought some today, and now I have some chicken soaking in the sauce overnight for cooking tomorrow. I'd always wondered what the "jerk" bit of jerky beef or chicken meant, and apparently if you "jerk" meat you puncture it with a knife or skewer to allow the sauce to get inside. Every day's a school day!
Toddler Charlie's Party, And Tonight
Me and Sam went to Toddler Charlie's birthday party at Planet Zoom last night, and we both enjoyed it immensely. Sam loves PZ, but which kid doesn't (for those who don't know, Planet Zoom is the King's Lynn version of the fun warehouse playground for kids). He was lost to sight within maybe 10 seconds of arriving, and had really good fun playing, especially with his best girlie friend Sophie. I love these parties, they're noisy but such fun for the kids. You can easily spot the hardcore Planet Zoom dads, as we have no shoes on from the start, to allow us to get into the fun too.
Sam loves the sliding ball ride, and soon enough there were 6 or 7 of the kids in it with us, with good old Daddy organising who had the next turn etc etc. It always seems to be like this at parties, whatever activity I settle on, then a big crowd of the kids gathers round. Seems I might be a better parent than I let myself think? So, we all zoomed up to the top of the play area and had a big, mass slide down. Yeah, there may be the odd little bruise here and there from 6 kids exiting a huge fast slide at 2 second intervals, but they love it and were all laughing their heads off as they lay in a big pile of kids in the ball pool at the bottom.
This time I had forewarned Sam that we had to go straight to mummy's after the party, but he was still upset and wanted to come to the flat to play. He ate his tea really nicely (actually, ALL the kids did), and it was a "fairly" painless exit. Some tears when we got back to mummy's though. Promises that mummy would LOVE to see the party bag etc seemed to work.
Today was pretty good but went SOOOO bloody fast. We played outside for a while until the rain got too heavy, then inside. The knights from the castle were telling Sam all about their day, what a strange bunch they are. Activities they have been doing today included cooking, knitting, doing jigsaw puzzles, and sitting on the toilet trying to break the world record for the loudest trump. Knights eh!
Our neighbours have some pots and troughs on the path, and me and Sam discussed doing the same. I'll speak to Matt next time I see him to see if he minds us copying him.
Thursday
I want hot sunny weather but the forecast is pants. If you read this blog, please do a sun dance for me? It's worth a few bob, promise! Spread the Word
