I am a really shy person by nature, and have only ever attempted karaoke once before....until last night that is......

I bowed to peer pressure and went to The Woolpack - ostensibly to watch the football. Alas the footie was not to be shown, because it was karaoke night - oh bloody great! Still, I stupidly stayed for a pint and a chat about the decline of Super Leeds with a fellow White, one pint led to three.....and then the karaoke started.

Well......there are some good singers who go to the Woolpack karaoke! Some others are triers. But it's all good fun, in a light-hearted kind of way. For some reason me and Ian the Roman decided to sing Y.M.C.A. together. But with props (hats) and choreography. So, with him in his Roman soldier's helmet (very shiny) and me in a.....in a.......witches hat....we grabbed the mikes and belted out the Village People classic. Renamed ourselves The Village Idiots. Three more blokes with absolutely no shame needed for the next time....

A little later and I went solo. I chose me and Sam's favourite "Same Jeans" by The View. And the amazing thing is, it was BRILLIANT (even if I do say so meself). As I've sung it so often with Sam and on my own I know it pretty much off by heart, and it's quite an easy song for a tone deaf loser like me to cope with. When I finished the pub went crackers, clapping and cheering like I was Kyle Falconer himself. I swapped high fives all the way back to my place at the bar. Really chuffed! DJ Jay says I should have that as "my" song at karaoke in the future. Not so sure about THAT!

So. A night in the pub but a karaoke triumph.....
