Beware of a blue VW Polo - J833DVG Because tonight I have seen and experienced this erratic and dangerous man's driving (I WAS going to use the phrase irresponsible, law-breaking tosser, but I'll stick with erratic and dangerous man (EDM)).
Driving back towards King's Lynn town centre, between the MacDonalds traffic lights and South Gates roundabout, the road is split into two lanes, with a speed limit of 40 miles an hour until you reach the houses, thereafter 30. Right lane for turning right at the roundabout or joining the right hand lane into town. Left lane for the two left exits or joining the left lane into town.
EDM was behind me in the right hand lane at the traffic lights. We set off, I reached 40 mph, stayed at that speed - it's the lawful limit! EDM swerved into the left lane, accelerated to go past me (guessing 50/55 mph), then, continued at his new speed as we entered the 30 zone, before swerving sharply back into the right hand lane just before the roundabout. He went right, without indicating, down Vancouver Avenue, same way I was going. All his bizarre and potentuially dangerous driving was WELL worth it as, by the time we reached the level crossing near my flats, he was a huge 40-ish metres ahead of me!
Now, the real point of this post, as well as alerting you to this accident-waiting-to-happen, is that my son lives with his mummy on one of the roads approaching the Southgates roundabout within about 150 metres. If there's an accident and he gets struck by EDM or another equally thoughtless driver at such a high speed he will be dead, at 30 he'll have a chance.
EDM, if you're reading, do get in touch, that stretch of road IS covered by CCTV, and no doubt the police would love an admission of speeding and dangerous driving. CommentsWant to comment on this blog entry? Blog Entry Discussion (1 comment) Spread the Word
