Blog:
Norfolk Single Dad
Been a really busy day catching up on the goolies-based cleaning backlog, plus pondering how to cook calamari..... Yesterday
I nipped into The Woolpack last night for an hour, unfortunately Old Bob was just leaving as I arrived. However Baron Stewart Bwana-MacTavish was in good form, and the world was well and truly put to rights. A few more perceptive customers noticed my bad mood (wooden sword incident) and were amazed when I told them why. Do wooden swords trivialise violence? Maybe, in the same way that Noah's Ark trivialises global warming! Thanks for the analogy chaps.
So, Noah's ark story. Huge ecological disaster. The world is flooded by climate change of some description. Should we be concerned and actually start trying to protect the environment? NO WAY! You just build a big boat, bob around for 40 days with your family, then you live happily ever after when the flood water disappears overnight. Recreate the whole human race (as Tommy Cooper would say) "just like that". Does anyone believe the bible? Or the koran?
Cleaning
Had a busy day today thanks to yesterday's "injury"......today was better than I'd thought it would be, cleaning from half six to half one, but you have to earn cash somehow!
Cheetah!
Can you believe that today is Cheetah's 75th birthday? He's the chimp who co-starred in the old black and white Tarzan films......seventy feckin five!!!!!
Calamari - Cooking It.....How?
I couldn't resist yesterday when I went into Morrisons for my Wednesday whitebait fix....I bought some fresh calamari (squid, in case any kiddies read this). I have now prepared my squid! They come with the head partly severed, when you pull it out, along with the kinda spine-bit, most of the rest of the insides follow. I took the safe option and ran a knife up the body to expel any stubborn innards! Then scraped the browny/purple skin off the sides, to end up with squid ready to cook! Heating oil in a pan now, squid will be quick-fried, and I'm going to eat it with salad and houmous. So.......if it all goes wrong and I kill myself by food-poisoning, consider yourself lucky that you read my last entry....... Spread the Word
