BBC Radio Norfolk - And Pigeon Pie!

Finally got to grips with making the pigeon pie this morning, and decided to let The Beeb know about it....

And amazingly their gorgeous Sunday morning DJ Kirsteen mentioned tha fact that I was struggling with me timings. Not only that but "an expert" chef was interviewed on air about making pigeon pie! Apparently it's all about the sauce you serve with game, it has to compliment the gamey flavour. Well my sauce will be the juice from the roasted (15 mins) pigeons plus thickish vegetable stock (I use Kallo Low Salt Vegetable Stock Cubes - next to zero salt - look for the blue box in shops).

Who knows, maybe this will provoke a rush to local butchers shops for pigeons? Hope so. The butcher near the clock is great, and the meat is MILES better than Tesco. If you live in or near King's Lynn, pigeons are available weekly, as are rabbits!

Pigeon pie recipe later!
