You have probably experienced it. Busy at work perhaps or even heartily laughing when in the midst of all the activities, you feel the drop of a warm liquid from your nose. Sensing it, you carefully wipe your nose only to see and feel blood oozing. On instinct, you press your nose and even do the age-old technique of tilting your head backwards. In some scenario, the blood trickles in your throat. Swallowing is so uncomfortable because you know you are swallowing blood by the taste of the fluid.

Ah, nosebleeds. These come when you least expect; a lot of times, childhood is a period where one experiences such although also can happen amongst adults. It is not really life-threatening but the thought of a more serious condition is a possibility especially when the bleeding passes through the throat and not through the nostrils. The individual experiencing the bleeding should be immediately brought to the hospital as the monitoring of blood loss will be needed in further assessment of the situation. Doctors will have to investigate further.

However, there are some pointers to do in order to prevent the simple kind of nosebleeding:

· Avoid picking. Your nostrils, although these do not look sensitive organs could be injured or traumatized by your actions. Additionally, blowing your nose forcefully can also be a problem; be gentle. What remains important is that when you recently had your bleeding episode, it is a good idea to eliminate these actions: picking and blowing forcefully

· Moisture plays an important role in keeping the environment in your nasal membranes intact. When the weather is too hot or too cold for you, try to humidify or moisturize the air you breathe by using a vaporizer. Lubricating your nose could also be an effective tool. These measures are done because most cases of nosebleeds are because of dry air or dry nasal environment aside from trauma and drugs.

· Consult the doctor. As simple as it may be, the tip is to ask a doctor to evaluate your bleeding episode.
