New Delhi, India (Sports Network) - New Zealands Mark Brown carded five back-nine birdies on Sunday and shot a five-under 67 to win the Johnnie Walker Classic by three shots. Victor Cruz Super Bowl Jersey . Coming off a victory on the Asian Tour last week -- also in India -- Brown finished at 18-under 270 for his first European Tour win. He didnt take the lead until the 15th hole of the final round. Overnight leader Taichiro Kiyota of Japan had two costly bogeys on the back nine and shot a one-under 71 to fall into a tie for second place with Australians Scott Strange (67) and Greg Chalmers (68) at 15-under 273. Shiv Kapur shot a 68 and was the highest Indian finisher in the field, sharing fifth place with Swedens Johan Edfors (65) and Englands Graeme Storm (69) at 14-under 274. Fellow Indian Jyoti Randhawa had a 72 and was eighth at 13-under 275. Brown played in the final pairing with Kiyota and began the round one shot off the lead after firing a 64 in the third round on Saturday. He lost three strokes on the front nine Sunday, posting two birdies and two bogeys for an outward 36 while Kiyota made three birdies and six pars for a 33. But the tournament took a turn after that. Brown rattled off four consecutive birdies beginning at the 12th hole to take a one-shot lead over Kiyota and Strange. Late bogeys by that duo increased Browns lead to two shots as the Kiwi stepped to the 18th tee. His closing bogey at DLF Golf Club gave him a 31 for the back nine and lengthened his winning margin to three shots. \"I played terrible on the front side -- I dont think I hit a fairway or green. I got to the 10th and said to myself Lets have a solid nine holes, and the birdies started falling,\" said Brown. \"The rest is a dream.\" Winning the tournament -- which is co-sanctioned by the Asian, Australasian and Indian PGA Tours -- gave Brown a two-year exemption on the European Tour. \"I would love to play in Europe,\" he said. \"Asia has been fantastic for me the last year and a half and a great stepping stone for me coming back into the game, so I would love to support them as well. Hopefully I can play a bit of both.\" Not \"good enough mentally or physically\" the first eight or nine years he played professional golf, Brown turned his back on competing for three years and taught in his native New Zealand instead. He has worked hard to come back, and it has paid early dividends. \"The last two weeks have been a blur,\" Brown said. The biggest stars in the field this week -- world No. 11 Vijay Singh and world No. 5 Adam Scott -- were unable to mount significant charges. Singh shot a 72 on Sunday and tied for 17th place at nine-under par, while Scott had a 71 and shared 30th place at seven-under. Cheap Hakeem Nicks Jersey . - Rich Beem stood over his tee shot on the 18th hole during his final practice session for the PGA Championship, trained his eye down the narrow fairway squeezed between bunkers, waggled his driver and then backed off. Super Bowl XLVI Jersey . American Hockey League GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS-Signed D Tom Galvin. SPRINGFIELD FALCONS-Recalled F Kelly Czuy from Stockton (ECHL). ECHL ECHL-Announced the Alaska organization was fined an undisclosed amount as a result of actions during a Dec. Premier Kenny Phillips Jersey . Moniz connected on 29-of-43 passes for 380 yards and an interception for the Warriors (10-3), who recorded 10 wins in a season for just the sixth time in school history. Alex Green carried the ball 15 times for 136 yards and a touchdown for Hawaii, which is nationally ranked for the first time since the 2007 season. Kenny Phillips Super Bowl Jersey . The NHL will partner with Hockey Canada and the CJHL to grow the Junior A game through its trademark events -- World Junior A Challenge Evaluation Camps, the World Junior A Challenge and the CHL Prospects Game as well as CJHL coach development initiatives. The agreement also includes investing in the development of players, coaches and officials involved with Junior A hockey across Canada. Hakeem Nicks Authentic Jersey . Cro Cop. INDIANAPOLIS -- The crowd at Conseco Fieldhouse booed for much of the 14 minutes that Frank Mir and Mirko (Cro Cop) Filipovic battled in the main event at UFC 119.DALLAS - The fear is gone. And after an atrocious start to the season, the Leafs are finally trending upwards toward respectability on the penalty-kill with an 86% mark over the last ten games (31-36). Contrast that to the first twelve games, when on seven different occasions the unit surrendered two goals, yielding a miserable overall efficiency of 69% (34-49). \"We had to stop going out there with the mindset like Holy crap, here comes another one, what if we get scored on\",\" said David Steckel, one of four primary penalty-killing forwards. \"At the beginning of the year we were almost scared to go on the PK,\" added Phillipe Dupuis, Steckels partner up front. \"We were like Alright, were probably going to get scored on, but now we go out there, we know we can do the job and were not going to get scored on.\" Steckel and Dupuis, one and two amongst Leaf forwards in shorthanded ice-time, have slightly differing views on whats made the difference over the last few weeks . \"I think its mostly due to the fact that were being aggressive,\" Steckel told the Leaf Report. \"I think as a player, honestly, youd rather not err on the side of caution but error on the side of Well, I gave it my all. If it was something physical where you lost an edge or the guy made a great play, thats great. There are too many great players in this league that are going to make great passes on a given night and goals are going to go in, but if youre sitting back and youre wondering Well, what if I would have went there as opposed to [actually] going and he makes a play in reacting off that…and that was kind of what we were stuck in I think as a group. We were trying to do the right things, but yet we werent.\" Dupuis agrees that the overall aggression of the penalty-kill has improved, but also pays credit to a growing familiarity amongst the group killing penalties. \"Its a chemistry thing,\" he told the Leaf Report. \"Once you get used to all the guys that you play with, you develop a little chemistry and its easier to kill. So I think the beginning of the year was a little hard, but we adjusted very well and I think were doing fine right now.\" Also critically important for the Leafs has been the improved stability between the pipes; Jonas Gustavsson and Ben Scrivens have combined to post a more respectable . Wes Welker Jersey. 883 save percentage during the ten-game streak, compared with a lowly .780 percentage in the first twelve games. Steckels faceoff prowess has been another valued asset. The 29-year-old has taken and won more shorthanded draws than any player in the NHL this season (71) and at a 58% success rate is drastically better than any of his teammates (37%). \"Its crazy because if you win a draw right away you kill pretty much like 20-25 seconds,\" said Dupuis, \"and thats if they go down [and] they can set up right away. If we break their breakout, we can kill at least like 40 seconds. Its a big key.\" Steckel adds on the units general effectiveness, \"Coaches have done a great job pre-scouting. Its not like we dont know what [the opposition is] doing. Its not like we dont know whos on the powerplay and what theyre trying to accomplish. They do a great job scouting and telling us what we need to do. It was just up to us as players and obviously it helps when you get better goaltending too. \" Ron Wilson and the coaching staff have come to rely on four forwards for the kill; Steckel and Dupuis on the first unit, Tim Connolly and Joey Crabb to follow on the second unit. Hed like his team to cut down on the amount of penalties taken – 98 minors thus far, tied for 6th worst in the league – so as to minimize the burden on his most effective killers. \"It becomes a strain for the four forwards who are killing,\" he said. \"Weve got six, seven, eight guys who can do it, but were relying on certain guys to get the job done and weve got to cut down on the number of penalties were taking.\" On the blue-line, Dion Phaneuf and Carl Gunnarsson form the first pairing and are the most effective shorthanded with a collection of Luke Schenn, Jake Gardiner and occasionally John-Michael Liles to follow. Despite the recent improvements, the Leafs still sit fourth from the bottom at 27th overall on the penalty-kill at 76.5%, but considering their miserable start and performance the last few seasons (28th, 30th, 30th), a string of success represents progress. \"It wasnt like we sat down and been like Here are all the killers, get your hand slapped,\" concluded Steckel. \"It was more or less like as a group, take a look in the mirror.\" ' ' '
