Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Mark DeRosa went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a key RBI in the eighth inning, and the Cleveland Indians barely hung on to beat the Kansas City Royals, 6-5, in the second of three games at Kauffman Stadium. Tim Tebow Authentic Jersey . Kerry Wood, who allowed four runs in the ninth Tuesday to allow the Royals to post a 6-5 come-from-behind victory, walked the bases loaded in the ninth inning Wednesday but came up with two crucial strikeouts to earn his sixth save. \"Its got to be over. Ive got to be out there and focused on getting the guys out tonight,\" Wood said of forgetting about Tuesdays blown save. \"Its not always easy to do, but youve got to be able to get it out of there.\" Victor Martinez went 2-for-5 with a run scored to maintain his MLB-leading .400 average for the Indians, who snapped a four-game losing streak -- their third such streak of the season. Jhonny Peralta and Shin-Soo Choo each had a pair of hits and an RBI in the win. Fausto Carmona battled control issues, allowing four runs on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts in six innings. Aaron Laffey (3-0) earned the win after yielding a run in 1 1/3 innings of relief. Jose Guillen went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Royals, who had won three of their last four. Gil Meche was solid in the start, giving up only two runs on six hits in six innings. Sidney Ponson (1-5) took the loss after yielding two runs in 1 1/3 innings of work. Cleveland tied the game in the seventh off Jamey Wright. Two singles and a hit batsman loaded the bases with one out, and Asdrubal Cabrera drew a four-pitch walk to make it 4-3. Ben Francisco scored the tying run on a fielders choice groundout by Grady Sizemore. \"Its the best I felt all year today,\" Wright said, despite giving up the two runs. \"I feel a little strong throwing through some sinkers and left a couple balls flat. They got some hits, then the bases loaded and four straight balls. That doesnt put our team in a good position.\" Choo led off the top of the eighth with a single and moved to second on a sac bunt. Ryan Garko grounded out to the Ponson, who caught Choo in a run-down. Choo was tagged out, but not before Garko reached second. With two outs, DeRosa lined a go-ahead RBI double to right to put Cleveland in front, 5-4. Robinson Tejeda came in and subsequently gave up an RBI single to Francisco to put the Indians up by two. Kansas City pulled to within 6-5 in the home half of the eighth, as Guillen hit a leadoff single, moved to second on a groundout and scored on a David DeJesus single to left. Kerry Wood came in to pitch the ninth and ran into some control problems again. He walked the leadoff batter, Alberto Callaspo, who was replaced by pinch-runner Willie Bloomquist. Bloomquist stole second with one out. Mike Jacobs followed with a five-pitch walk, and Wood walked Guillen on five pitches to load the bases. Mark Teahen came up, and Wood suddenly regained his control. Teahen inexplicably swung at the first pitch out of the strike zone, and he eventually struck out on a curve ball right down the middle. Wood followed by striking out DeJesus on the same pitch to end the game. The Royals jumped in front in the third on Billy Butlers RBI single through the left side of the infield. Later in the frame, with runners on first and third and two outs, Guillen lined a two-run double to the gap in right-center field. The Indians answered with two in the fourth. Martinez doubled with one out and scored on Choos single to center. Choo moved up to second on the throw home and scored on Peraltas base hit up the middle. Mike Aviles scored in the bottom of the fourth on a two-out wild pitch to give KC a 4-2 lead. Game Notes The season series is tied, 4-4...Wood needed 28 pitches to get through the ninth and threw only 12 strikes...The Indians bullpen is now 8-for-17 in save situations this season and came into the game with a league-worst 5.84 ERA...Martinez has a hit in 35 of the Indians 41 games this season. Carmelo Anthony Authentic Jersey . Stenson had looked certain to protect his overnight lead after making an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole for the second day in a row, but the Swede finished with two bogeys for a 70. Stenson and Coetzee were at 10-under 134 to sit one stroke ahead of Pablo Larrazabal of Spain, who carded a 67. Amare Stoudemire Authentic Jersey . Mexico nominated Carstens on Monday as the first challenger for the post traditionally held by a European after former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn resigned to face charges he tried to rape a hotel maid. Europe has monopolized the post since the IMFs inception at the end of World War II. Authentic Michael Jordan Jersey . The Chicago Gay Hockey Association invited the Blackhawks to join Sundays Gay Pride Parade after the team won its first Stanley Cup title since 1961 - and the team said yes. So did the Chicago Cubs, who will have their own float in the parade for the first time. Authentic Sidney Rice Jersey . Anderson was recently released by the Cleveland Browns, and a report in the Arizona Republic states he is expected to back up Matt Leinart but will also get chances to compete for the starting nod. Authentic Kevin Durant Jersey . Guthrie (3-4) allowed one run on six hits for Baltimore, which halted a two- game skid. Nick Markakis homered and scored twice while Miguel Tejada added a pair of runs scored in the victory. I was able to get the outs tonight, and thats an important part of the game -- making big pitches in big situations, said Guthrie. Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Deron Williams sank a go-ahead jumper with 1.7 seconds remaining, capping his substantial double-double and saving the New Jersey Nets in a 107-105 victory against the Timberwolves. Williams scored 18 points and matched a career high with 21 assists for the Nets, who led by double digits for most of the game until Minnesota put together a late rally. Williams jumper came after Michael Beasley tied the game with 7.8 seconds to go, and Beasley missed a potential winning three-pointer in the final second. It was a big moment in what could have been Williams final game of the season. Nets head coach Avery Johnson said Williams will not play Wednesday against Detroit, and instead will see a specialist about his right wrist, which has been injured since January. Even on a night like tonight, his wrist was just getting fatigued and fatigued the whole game, and he still pulled one out of his hat, Johnson said. Brook Lopez added 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Nets, who snapped a six- game losing streak. Beasley had 20 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for Minnesota, which came up just short in its 11th consecutive loss. Anthony Randolph posted 20 points and 10 boards off the bench. The Timberwolves got back into the game with time winding down in the fourth quarter. A 9-2 burst, capped by Luke Ridnours jumper with 2:35 left, made it a 99-97 game. New Jersey went back up by multiple possessions, but after Beasley made two free throws, Williams turned the ball oveer and Anthony Tolliver dropped in a layup. Knicks Amare Stoudemire Jersey. That trimmed the Nets lead to 104-103, and after the teams traded turnovers, Sasha Vujacic made 1-of-2 free throws to set up the final sequence. Beasley got the equalizing points when Travis Outlaw was called for goaltending on his pull-up attempt. But at the other end, Williams was guarded by Ridnour and drove left before pulling up and knocking down the fadeaway. A guy like that, he has the ball so much, he gets such a rhythm, cause theres so many pick and rolls. He has the ball the whole game, Ridnour said of Williams. So its tough to stop someone like that. I thought we did a decent job on those shots, he just hit some big ones. Lopez poured in 20 points during the first half, shooting 9-for-12 from the field to fuel the Nets scoring outburst. They were up 29-23 after the first quarter, then led by as many as 13 before carrying a 61-50 advantage into the break. They shot 53 percent and drained six three-pointers, including three from Vujacic. The Timberwolves cut their deficit to single digits several times in the third quarter, but couldnt get it down to one or two possessions, and Johan Petros jumper with half a minute left made it an 85-75 game moving to the fourth. GAME NOTES:Vujacic made 4-of-6 three-pointers for New Jersey, finishing with 17 points and a career-high 10 boards...The teams split the two-game season series...Tolliver had 14 points off the Timberwolves bench, while fellow reserve Martell Webster added 16.
