Stabbings Must Stop

Can someone, somewhere, explain to me exactly what's going on in our streets? Are you, like me, a concerned parent, wondering what's happening to our childrens' world?

Wednesday July 11th - Collecting Bills again

Like Simon in his blog, I'm also at the time of the month when I'm collecting bills. Why is it that we spend our life working really hard, just to pay bills, and, normally, end up with no money for ourselves?

Today, I've had the "honour" of talking to both my secured loan lenders and PowerGen. Our electric bill has just gone up from £40.00 monthly straight to £78.00, and the secured loan, having missed some payments, is now £192.29 monthly.

Bearing in mind the mortgage interest rate has again gone up last month, so I'm expecting to pay something like an extra £30.00 monthly from 10th August.

Yet again, I'm having to redo my accounts. All this means is that I get more and more in debt as every month passes, with no hope of a break, or reprieve for the forseeeable future.

So, I've got to keep on keeping on, hoping for a break somewhere down the line. Hopefully, sooner, rather than later.

S.A.D Manager Update

At the time of writing, I've still had no reply. I and a colleague are busy on redesigning the roster system at work and trying to balnce the companys new requirements against what we want and need to do. I've rescheduled myself for 4 day shifts, the minimum the comapny say I should work. We're hoping to get final confirmation from the last man tomorrow so we'll be able to close this case down. Hopefully, forever, but I think, realistically, the company will continue to re-open the case every 5 weeks or so, the same as it's been doing for the last two months.

John's Wife Update

I feel really sorry for John, my colleague at work. He and his wife went to the QE for a CAT scan which showed up a shadow on his wifes lung in addition to the growth on her side. She's now been referred to the Lung Cancer Specialist. I'm not sure when they got the results, it was either earlier today or yesterday.

Having gone through all this myself last month, and finding myself clear, I really really feel for John and his wife. The worst possible results were confirmed in his wifes case, whereas I escaped by the skin of my teeth.

I am so, so, lucky even though I have so many major, financial, problems everywhere else.

I reallly am appreciating life, despite still experiencing daily difficulties, seemingly everywhere, often severe. I don't know how long this appreciative stage will stay with me, but I am pleased to say the relief stage is now over. After a tense month, I've had severe headaches, palpitations, Skin Disorders, rashes, stomach upsets, and the one sleepless night all within the two weeks after being cleared for cancer. My body, and brain, are recovering now the stress of the whole situation has finally left me.

New Blog

On a lighter note, I've just started the new blog, Common Sense For Brtain, and I'm pleased to report that the article I published on Helium is stil number 1 in its section!
