Source: Matt Three of the itsmymarket.com development team have decided to enter next year's Great West Run half marathon. Running. Always seems like such a silly idea - something you take up in January with good intentions and give up in Feburary with sore legs. Pounding the pavement is so unforgiving on your knee and ankles, and there have to be better ways to stay fit, right? Actually, I used to be quite a keen runner. I even ran up Snowdon to raise money for the MS Society once. But that was years ago. The Great West RunEarlier this year Manley decided he was going to enter the Great West Run, 13.1 miles around the streets of Exeter usually taking place in late April or early May. Manley has never liked running. They made him run when he was in the army, but he developed a preference for having long hair and a beer belly and found a whole new life for himself. Nonetheless, last January Manley got the bit between his teeth, trained hard for four months, and dragged himself around the course wearing a bright orange football shirt proudly sporting his 30 years of age. Mid-life crisis? Manley raised a whole load of money for the RNLI and after some consideration decided that the whole experience had been just about worth it. I think the small plastic medal may have tipped the scales. 2007Next year, Manley wants to do it all again. And he's dragging Rowan and myself (Matt) along for the 'fun'. Behold! The itsmymarket.com Great West Run team :) An idea is born. We haven't trained yet, we haven't picked a charity yet, and Rowan doesn't even have any trainers.
