Source: Tomo Most of us are feeling the pinch a bit - here's some tips to help us out of the gloom! Up here at itsmymarket.com towers we have a TV that's tuned to BBC News 24...over the last few weeks we've watched the banking crisis unfold and also we've come to realise that everyone's feeling the pinch a bit more. So what can we do? Well, apart from selling our worldly possessions (well, maybe not our worldly ones, but those that we don't use or those that are collecting dust in a box somewhere) on websites such as itsmymarket.com there's a few things we can do. We've put together "itsmymarket.com's 30 ways to beat the credit crunch". From transferring your outstanding balance on a credit card to saving money when you shop, you'll find a series of tips that will help you save and survive the credit crunch. Source: Tomo ItÂs the beginning of the school summer break 2008. For most of us that means traffic jams, babysitters, entertaining our little darlings and probably rain! Unfortunately itsmymarket.com can’t help with much of the above, although our traffic reports will help you around the worst of the jams. What we can help you with however is that clearout, the de-clutter you’ve been planning for seemingly ages! Why not take the opportunity of the predictably inclement British weather by photographing your old or unused items, posting them on itsmymarket.com and waiting for someone to come by and take them off your hands? Of course the best bit is that you can earn some spare cash from selling them too…and in the present financial climate we're sure having a few extra pounds lining your pocket will not only lift the weight a bit but will help entertain the kids over the coming 6 weeks. To help, on the 30/07/08, we gave every registered user 5 days (worth £5) of Premium Listings to be used by the 30th September 2008. Premium Listings are the paid for way of getting your ad to the top of the category it is listed in - making your ad stand out! As soon as you’ve created your advert book your Premium Listing like normal and you’ll automatically skip the payment area. Until next time thank you for using and supporting itsmymarket.com. We aim to make our site the leader in the online classifieds sector and to do this we appreciate your hints, suggestions, opinions and criticisms. For more information or to contact us please reply to this email. Kind regards, itsmymarket.com Team

Source: Tomo Welcome to the first newsletter of 2008! Hi, Welcome to the first itsmymarket.com newsletter of 2008! We were reminiscing in the office this week about all the great things that we did last year. The photo competitions were pretty popular but most of all we were amazed at the sheer number of items that were advertised through itsmymarket.com in 2007; over 68,000! The variety was pretty amazing too, from Ferrari’s & Nintendo Wii’s to corner sofa’s and some very nice handmade jewellery. Many of you have been wondering if we will run another photo competition, yes we will. When? – we’re not sure but it will probably be during the summer. If you have any suggestions for a theme then please reply to this email. Last month we finished work on our whitelabel system. This enables third party websites to run their own classified listings system for free; complete, award winning software for free! The best bit is that we manage it for you, so we look after scammers, enquiries, etc. Because its whitelabel it means its not branded “itsmymarket.com”, so you can claim it as your own. If you have your own website and fancy giving your users the facility to buy and sell then please click here. As a thankyou for your continued support of itsmymarket.com all registered users have recieved 5 days worth of vouchers for our premium listings. A premium listing is normally a paid for enhancement that positions your advert at the top of the listings page, gaining the most exposure. This voucher is valid until the 31 May 2008*. You can use them all together on one a! dvert or split them between multiple ads. Once you have create! d your a dvert simply proceed through the premium listings setup, our system will recognise you and will bypass the billing system. If you have already created an advert then login to “Your Account”, select “Your classified listings” and click the “Buy Guaranteed First Page Listing” link next to your favoured advert. We look forward to working with you all in 2008, if you have any suggestions please let us know, we are always interested in hearing ideas for improving our website. Thankyou and until next time we wish you well, itsmymarket.com team PS: remember to spread the word that itsmymarket.com is the place to buy and sell! Source: Tomo It's been ages since we've posted to our blog so here goes... Hi Guys, It's been a while, you must think we've vanished?! Here's an update on a few things that we've been up to recently: Well, first, we've been listening to some of your comments regarding the topic of "Carbon Offsetting". We racked our brains in one of those "strategy" meetings (that was punctuated by a swift beer to get our creative juices flowing!) where we came up with a way of keeping itsmymarket.com green. Essentially we have been able to calculate how much carbon is produced by your pc while you are visiting itsmymarket.com! Its a pretty complicated equation but in October 2007 we offset 4,380 tonnes of CO2 by planting trees...check out our green page for more info. We've been raising money too, you may remember when Matt, Rowan & Manley ran the Great West Run on behalf of the RNLI raising £750? Well since then we've developed and tweaked a piece of software that runs charity auctions associated with radio stations. Our next big one is coming up soon on the 9th December but as we're hosting it you can check out the lots and bid on them now! We've also been having a think about some future improvements to our classifieds...we're thinking of video ads - where in addition to uploading pictures of the item you wish to sell you would be able to record a short clip of your item on your mobile and txt it to us for around 25p...we're interested in hearing from both sellers and potential buyers - would it benefit you? Of course if you just have an opinion we're interested! Drop us an email: enquiries@itsmymarket.com with your thoughts. Oh, how could i forget this: today we launched our latest photo competition! - yes, after much demand they're back...This one is called "Photo's of 2007" and does what it says - a collaboration of everything that's happened in 2007, in pictures! The winner will grab themselves a brand new Canon EOS 350D Digital SLR including a 18-55mm lens kit supplied by our friends at savebuckets.com. Our Prioritised listings that get your advert to the top of its category has launched...costing as little as £1 per consecutive day we've had a number of our users use these to their success. I think that's about it! Apart from the fact that we welcomed James to the team over the summer! We really appreciate all the comments and thoughts that you send us and leave in our forums so please keep them coming! We'd also like to thank all of you who post blogs, place ads and everything else on itsmymarket.com. Cheers for now! itsmymarket PS - its chilly outside hey??!! Source: Matt Will there be a happy ending? Prezzo PLC have replied to my letter of complaint... I just got home to find a letter from Prezzo PLC on the doormat. The letter apologises for my recent bad experience in Exeter Prezzo, gives assurances that the matter will be investigated, and encloses a £50 voucher in the hope that I might return to give them a second chance to demonstrate their usually high standards and regain my custom. That certainly restores a little bit of my faith. Not sure when I'll use the voucher, but I'll let you know how I get on. To report this post follow the permalink above |
