The lazy man's way to PC happiness - get someone else to do IT

Installing a new phone and broadband service.

One third of consumers wishing to switch broadband provider don’t do so because they have no faith in the process, latest research reveals.

From personal experience, I Agree! At the back end of last year I decided it was time to get a better deal on my internet package and began the hunt for a cheap broadband provider. It turned out I still had over a month before my current contract expired and now thats expired I made the bold step.

In for a penny - in for a pound

Might as well go the full monty so grabbed BTs latest deal - Option 1 - which offered a free hub for phone and wifi broadband connection at the maximum speed available in my area - not far off the "up to" 8mb advertised - anyone can check their speeds with this broadband speedtest tool

No Faffing - I want this to work!!!

Well ain't no muppet but I'm no boffin either so although the installation instructions did look straightforward history has taught me that as I don't read them carefully I will make mistakes - and I had a million and one things to do - Valentines Day is a busy time for me therefore I accepted that I needed the services setting up quickly and it was time to call in the experts.

Call for PC Help

The home IT support service on offer was exacly what I needed - an engineer to visit on the day of switching and taking care of everyting - sorted. i calculated that over the next five months the cost of this luxury would be covered by my monthly broadband rental savings.

There was also an option to pay a monthly fee 9just under a tenner) to get ongoing IT support for home but touching cloth I passed on this.

Don't be Afraid to Switch Broadband Providers

“Many consumers are afraid to switch in case something goes wrong”, says Michael Phillips, product development director at Broadband Choices

Well if you are prepared to fork out just a bit extra and the introduction of the Migration code system - in my opinion its easy to change - as long as someone else does it for you.
