Lost in a strange place

Don't put my back-up

Going Going Gone - but its out there somewhere.

Q: What do you say to someone thats had his computer stolen?

A: Did you have it backed up?

Ha ha ha ha - but in reality its no laughing matter. Not all of us have the resources that Ms Bleary Eyes has to ensure that somewhere in Whitehall the contents of her laptop are safe for future retrieval.

File and Data Storage

Helpful tips from June Jacks on hints and things suggests checking out online "digital vaults" to protect the files and folders stored on your computer.

What about software backup?

Its not just the documents, images and music that hurt when a PC is stolen or breaks down - but all the software you've collcted (paid or otherwise) disappears too which is why June suggests you look out for a FULL OFFICE SERVICE online storage

Christmas Already -

Source: Current Affairs Blog
Thursday 12th June 2008, 4:13pm

Is there no end to this madness?

Christmas shopping in June?

Another bewildered blogger has claimed that there are already Christmas displays in the shops in his area. I peeked into my local Woolies (big Christmas offenders) but saw no sign as yet but it only goes to show that the harder the "crunch" the more vigorously retailers will entice shoppers to spend more.

Christmas Jobs Boost the Economy

This is the excuse used to justify the ever earlier arrival of Christmas nonsense to our high streets but the surge in recruitment for additional sales staff isn't until mid November when the shop opening hours are extended.

Job sites aren't yet displaying any vacancies for Santas

Even the online job sites who are never slow to miss a tirck aren't yet displaying any vacancies for Santas or Elves.

Roy Wood - you have a lot to answer for with your incessant Wish it could be Christmas every day tune.

Like the white van - they're everywhere

Since the last post about Zara Phillips straddling a Rover Freelander for an advert more and more freelander activity has been noted

Freelander Adverts and Promotions

A couple of videos caught my eye - this one demonstrating the freelander all terrain control - a neat bit of technology available on many of land rover's modles and this slick web site dedicated to the freelander

The Wiki Freelander page displays a panel that suggests "This article reads like a news release, or is otherwise written in an overly promotional tone." but having read through to the end it seemed to me to be just another self indulgent wiki fest - with edits being commented "removed Freelander Google groups as there is already a more authoritative site on the subject listed (see guidelines) and also as it is a social networking site"

Freelander - Social networking??

It can only be a matter of time before some brigh marketing spark sends out an invitaiton to join his (or her) whacky new group - SUV (Simply Utterly Lurv) SUV Freelander.
