Things that Pop into my Head
Not just one wedding to go to last Saturday, but two! Glorious weather, shame about my feet. Saturday morning 11am, off to Kingsteignton for wedding number 1 at 12. We managed to find the church with 15 mins to spare.Just time to mingle and have a quick chat with my old workmates from the labs (the bride used to work there too). All went very well, bride and groom both turned up, the bride's dress was wonderful, they both said 'I do', the hymns were nice and easy - All things bright and beautiful and Sing Hosanna. Then off to a lovely hotel in Bishopsteignton for the wedding breakfast which was excellent and the bar was pretty cheap too. After the speeches and more chatting it was back to Exeter to shower and change before the evening reception of wedding no two. This wedding was my cousins, my other half decided we should take a short cut into town, instead of walking the usual route. The shortcut took 45mins, usually it takes 25. D'OH! This wedding was a bit less traditional - she wore a black 1950's esque dress with red flowers, suited her exactly. It was the second time in 6 months (last time was grandma's 90th in April in Manchester) to see all the family from up north which was cool. We arrived just in time to see them have their first dance - the big suprise was that someone had arranged my cousins most favourite Elvis impersonator in the world to be the entertainment! Her face was a picture, He'd made a special effort to do an hours gig for us as it was also his sons 21st birthday party that night. Have to say he was fantastic. The rest of the evening was spent drinking, making merry and yapping.
Sunday was mostly spent recuperating, assessing the sunburn (not too bad) and damage done to feet from shoes. The feet didn't get off quite so lightly, I'd worn new shoes to my cousins hen night on wednesday which had rubbed in a couple of places. The long walk into town in my sandals had caused more rub marks in different places, so if anyone steps on my feet tonight at Aikido there will be trouble :-) CommentsWant to comment on this blog entry?
