Blog:
Things that Pop into my Head Unpredictable weather could be the nail in the coffin for staycations in Britain. As the credit crunch took hold, people in the UK started to holiday at home and the staycation was born. Now, after two washout summers and freezing winters, it seems unlikely this trend will continue. More people are destined to splash out on luxury holidays in 2011 as we long for a nice hotel and weather to match. In fact, I have read that some people are planning to spend as much as £8k on their perfect holiday getaway. If you factor in the air travel and holiday industry price cuts, holidays abroad are actually cheaper, despite the increased taxes. The most obvious thing to do when deciding where to go on a luxury holiday is to do some research. A good place to start is travel guides where all sorts of interesting information can be found, from how much to tip, to the best places to visit. Its impossible to do too much research, but too little and you could find yourself in all sorts of trouble! Here's hoping next year is a successful one.
