Parts of the new Princesshay development in Exeter are officially open, including some restaurants and cafes. New doesn't necessarily mean better.....

Just thought I'd share my experience of the new La Tasca Spanish Tapas restaurant in Exeter, it wasn't good.

My experience is that usually when a new restaurant is opened, experienced staff would be on hand to train and guide the new ones, maybe even before it opens its doors *gasp*. No evidence of that happening here, they all seemed to be in over their heads with noone to ask for help.

The service as slow and poor, we had to ask for everything twice it seemed as things were forgotten. The food (once it arrived) wasn't any better either, everything was drenched in oil peple with more experience of Spanish food than me said it was some of the worst tapas they had ever had.

I can only hope that they improve considerably in the next few months, but in the mean time, if you do find yourself hungry in the Princesshay area of Exeter, avoid La Tasca!
