Blog: Things that Pop into my Head

The pitfalls of machines that are too damn clever for their own good.

Since New Year (ish) like a lot of people, I decided to lose some of the excess wobbly bits and get a bit fitter. I decided on the slow and steady approach as I'm no good at 'proper' diets.

All was going well, was nearly at my target weight until about 4 weeks ago, I had a major falling off the wagon for about a week and put most of it back on again. D'oh! Got my act back together - a wedding coming up on the 9th June is a good incentive as I dont want to look like a teletubby in my nice new Rocha dress (thought about control pants, but they're £30 for gods sake!). I'm now back to where I was before the ooopsie.

After a read of the interwebs banging on about %body fat, BMI etc, I got some fancy scales that tell you %fat and %water and in the package was a pedometer and a (not so great) radio - all for £20 from Amazon! Turns out my body fat is high (no real suprise) water is ok (I do drink loads), but the worst thing is that they weigh a whole kg heavier than my other scales. Grrrrr!

Having fun with the pedometer tho, between going to work and getting home, I walked 8300ish steps which aint bad, plus aikido twice a week should help the various figures to keep going in the right direction.
