Source: hazel_eyes Its been plastered all over the news, Ford have agreed the sale of Land Rover and Jaguar to Tata. First they build the cheapest car in the world, and now with the aquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover, Tata have got their claws into the luxury car market as well. If that wasn't enough British heritage to be taken away, they also own Corus (British Steel) and Tetley tea! Land Rover Owners magazine reports that "Union officials at each of the plants have stated that they are happy with the deal and that they have been given written assurances of job security and future investment." Source: hazel_eyes Further to Kims musings about swapping in the Bentley for a new Land Rover, it turns out, they may just about to be taken over. Tata LandRoverFollowing Kims blog about buying a new Land Rover, they may well be about to become Indian owned. Apparently Tata Motors, an Indian car company is poised to buy it and Jaguar from Ford as they're not doing so well having already sold off Aston Martin and Hertz car rentals. I haven't noticed any talk about it in the Landrover forums yet and Land Rover Owners International don't seem to have picked it up yet either. I wonder if it will affect them in any way, or maybe they will just bimble along regardless of who own them. Land Rover LongingsPersonally I hope this won't signal the end for Land Rover, even Jeremy Clarkson raved about the Defender after his adventure up to the top of a Welshmountain.
