Land Rover's Freelander 2 set to silence the critics with "Terrain Response" technology

There are some who have commented on the ability of the Freelander when put to the test - but the Freelander 2 is set to silence them.

Adopting the "Sticks and stones" approach Land Rover went on to see the Freelander 4x4 SUV Sports Utility Vehicle become a best seller

Freelander 'Terrain Response' Technology

Combining the thrills of of-road action with the quality soft-road drive Land Rover have included their patented terrain response system as standard on all Freelanders bar the very basic entry models. This technology intelligently links the gears, chassis system, coupling and engine to give the ultimate drive on whatever terrain your on. Snow, Mud, Sand and general driving are all tackled as though you had a freelander expert as co-pilot beside you - ensuring maximum safety whilst delivering optimum performance.

See this video to "feel" the traction control of a Freelander with Terrain Respose

Freelander 2 - "Just gets Better"

Don't just take my word for it - Read motoring jounalist David Wilkins review of the road test he gave a Freelander in the Independent.

The Independent test drives are a valuable resource as not only is a paid journalist invloved but a good selection of the public are able to express their point of view.

Want to test drive the next generation freelander ?

You can apply to become part of the road test team e-mail motoring@independent.co.uk and you could be in the running for the next generation freelander or SUV.
