No red lily beetle !

Hope you all had a good Easter - I spent a lot of time doing nothing but reading and drinking (plus chomping the odd Easter egg).

Caught my first red lily beetle of the year, put paper below the plant as the beetle usually drops like a stone when you try to pick it off the plant, and the paper also stops it disappearing into the soil, then I squished it with great satisfaction. I then sprayed all the lilies as a precaution and so far no signs of anymore beetles (or eggs that look like beetle poo!).

As, it was Easter I thought that I would read something in keeping with the occasion, so I have been reading 'The Genesis Code' by John Case (a husband and wife writing team no less). The story is based on the confessions of a dying doctor in a small village, which could bring down the Catholic Church (a popular theme these days aka 'The Da Vinci Code'). Will let you know in due course if it is any good.
