Prescriptions are free in Wales. In Britain, we are charged a £6.85 flat fee per item.

A recent News Of The World Survey has proved that many of our medicines are available much cheaper direct from pharmacies abroad. Examples shown were Mefenic Acid painkillers at £1.12, Omeprazole (Stomach Ulcer/Heartburn) at £3.69 for 28 capsules, and Captopril (Blood Pressure) at £4.19 for 60 capsules.

Health Secretary Alan Johnson is to renegoiate a 5 year agreement with pharaceutical companies as a result of the NHS also complaining it is paying too much
